Types of Sprockets We Manufacture

JAS Engineering is a precision sprockets manufacturer supplying a comprehensive range of chain sprockets, conveyor sprockets, and custom sprocket wheels for power transmission and material handling applications across heavy industries. Our sprockets are manufactured from high-grade carbon steel, alloy steel, and cast iron hobbed or CNC-machined to exact tooth profiles conforming to industry standards and are available for single strand, double strand, and multi-strand roller chains and conveyor chains of all pitches and sizes.

Standard Roller Chain Sprockets

We manufacture standard single, double, and triple strand sprockets to match all popular roller chain pitches from 6.35mm (¼”) to 76.2mm (3″) as per IS 2403, ANSI B29.1, and DIN 8187/8188 standards. Available in a wide range of tooth counts (from 9T to 120T+), bore sizes, and hub configurations, plain bore, keyway bore, or pilot bore, to suit shaft mounting requirements directly or with the use of taper-lock bushes.

Taper Lock Sprockets

Taper lock sprockets use a precision taper bush system for quick, secure, and concentric mounting on shafts without the need for machining or welding. This makes installation, removal, and shaft repositioning fast and easy, ideal for plants that require frequent maintenance or where sprocket realignment is needed. We supply taper lock sprockets across all standard chain pitches and compatible with all major taper bush series (1008, 1210, 1615, 2012, 2517, 3020, 3535, etc.).

Conveyor Chain Sprockets

Designed to match our range of conveyor chains, including slat chains, drag chains, apron chains, and attachment chains, our conveyor sprockets are manufactured with precision tooth profiles for smooth chain engagement and reduced wear. Available in large diameters and with extended hub lengths to suit conveyor shaft and bearing arrangements, these sprockets are commonly used in cement, sugar, mining, and steel plant conveyor systems.

Duplex & Triplex Sprockets

For multi-strand chain drives where higher power transmission is required, we manufacture duplex (double strand) and triplex (triple strand) sprockets with precisely machined tooth and strand spacing to ensure equal load distribution across all strands of the chain. Accurate inter-strand spacing is critical for multi-strand sprocket performance and chain life.

Idler Sprockets

Idler sprockets are used to guide, tension, or redirect chain in a drive without transmitting torque. We manufacture idler sprockets with integral bearings or plain bore for shaft mounting as per the drive layout requirements. Idler sprockets with pre-fitted ball bearing assemblies are particularly convenient for tensioning arrangements on long-centre chain drives.

Split Sprockets

Split sprockets (two-piece sprockets) are used where the sprocket needs to be mounted or removed from a shaft without disturbing the bearings, couplings, or other components on the shaft. The two-piece design bolts together around the shaft after installation. Commonly used in heavy conveyor drives in cement, fertilizer, and mining applications where downtime for maintenance must be minimised.

Large Diameter & Custom Sprockets

For non-standard applications requiring large diameters, unusual tooth counts, special bores, extended hubs, or non-standard chain pitches, we manufacture fully custom sprockets to customer drawings or samples. Our CNC hobbing and turning capabilities allow us to produce sprockets up to 1000mm+ in diameter from solid blanks or weld fabrications depending on size and quantity.
