Precision Contract Manufacturing – JAS Engineering

Precision Contract Manufacturing

Precision Contract Manufacturing Capabilities

JAS Engineering is a trusted precision contract manufacturing partner for OEM manufacturers, plant engineering teams, and industrial companies looking to outsource the production of precision-machined components, fabricated assemblies, and power transmission parts to a reliable, quality-focused supplier. Our in-house manufacturing facility covers CNC turning, CNC milling (VMC), surface and cylindrical grinding, wire-cut EDM, water jet cutting, laser cutting, gear hobbing, and structural fabrication – allowing us to manage your complete component manufacturing requirement under one roof, from raw material to finished and inspected parts ready for despatch.

We work to customer drawings and specifications, accept all standard CAD formats, and offer flexible batch sizes from prototype through to long-run production supply, making us a versatile contract manufacturing partner for businesses of any size across any industry.

CNC Turning

We manufacture precision turned components on multi-axis CNC lathes with live tooling for shafts, spindles, flanges, bushes, sleeves, couplings, threaded parts, and complex rotational profiles. Diameter range: ⌀15mm to ⌀500mm, length up to 600mm. Materials: mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, and engineering plastics. Tolerances achieved: ±0.01mm diameter, Ra 0.8 µm surface finish standard.

CNC Milling (VMC Machining)

Vertical machining centres for prismatic components including housings, plates, brackets, tooling fixtures, gear blanks, and machine parts requiring accurate flat faces, pockets, bores, slots, and contoured profiles. Multi-face machining in a single setup minimises errors and improves dimensional consistency. We work to GD&T callouts and tight positional tolerances on complex assemblies.

Surface & Cylindrical Grinding

Post-heat-treatment grinding services to restore dimensional accuracy and achieve precision surface finishes on flat faces, cylindrical shafts, bores, and profiles. Surface finish capability: Ra 0.4 to Ra 0.8 µm. Cylindrical grinding for shafts and rollers up to 500mm diameter. Centreless grinding for high-volume cylindrical parts where concentricity and diameter consistency are critical.

Wire-Cut EDM

Wire-cut EDM for hardened steel components and complex 2D profiles requiring extreme precision, punch and die sets, press tools, keyways, templates, and intricate profiles that cannot be produced by conventional cutting. Cutting accuracy: ±0.005mm. Suitable for any electrically conductive material regardless of hardness.

Water Jet Cutting

Cold-cutting process for materials sensitive to heat, including rubber, plastics, glass, ceramics, aluminium, and composite materials, where laser cutting is not suitable. Water jet cutting produces clean, stress-free edges without heat-affected zones, making it ideal for gaskets, seals, wear pads, and complex flat profiles in non-metallic and heat-sensitive materials.

Laser Cutting

High-speed precision laser cutting for mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium sheet metal profiles. Fast turnaround on flat component profiles, brackets, flanges, gussets, enclosure panels, and custom shapes. Clean, burr-free edges with tight dimensional accuracy across both prototype and production volumes.

Gear Hobbing & Gear Cutting

Precision gear manufacturing for spur gears, helical gears, worm shafts, sprockets, and timing pulleys to IS, DIN, and AGMA standards. Module range: M1 to M20+. Heat treatment and gear grinding available for precision grades. This capability makes JAS Engineering one of the few contract manufacturers offering full gear manufacturing alongside general CNC machining under one roof.

Structural Fabrication & Machined Weldments

MIG/MAG and TIG welding for structural steel assemblies, machine frames, platforms, brackets, enclosures, and custom fabrications from mild steel, stainless steel, and structural sections. Machined weldments, fabricated first, then CNC-machined to final tolerances are a particular strength, enabling large, complex assemblies that cannot be produced as castings or solid-machined parts.

Our Contract Manufacturing Process

Precision Machine Components Manufacturer - JAS Engineering

We follow a structured and transparent process for all contract manufacturing engagements to ensure your requirements are met correctly, on time, and to the agreed specification:

Step 1 – Enquiry & Drawing Review
Submit your drawings, samples, or specifications in any standard format (PDF, DXF, DWG, STEP, IGES). Our engineering team reviews your requirement, identifies the optimal manufacturing process and material, and flags any design-for-manufacturing considerations before quoting.

Step 2 – Quotation & Lead Time Confirmation
We provide a detailed quotation covering material, process, quantity, unit price, and confirmed delivery lead time. For new components, we quote first-off prototype pricing separately from batch production pricing.

Step 3 – First-Off Sample & Approval
For new components, we produce a first-off sample before committing to batch production. The sample is dimensionally inspected against your drawing and either shipped for your inspection and approval, or inspection records are shared for remote approval.

Step 4 – Production & In-Process Inspection
Approved components proceed to batch production with in-process dimensional checks at defined intervals to maintain consistency across the full batch. Critical dimensions are recorded and traceable to each production batch.

Step 5 – Final Inspection & Despatch
Every batch undergoes final inspection before packing and despatch. Dimensional inspection reports, material certificates, and hardness test records are provided with shipment where specified.

Why Choose JAS Engineering as Your Contract Manufacturing Partner?

Industrial Roller Chains Manufacturer - JAS Engineering

Expertise in processes like CNC turning, milling, grinding, EDM, laser cutting, water jet, gear hobbing, fabrication, heat treatment, and surface finishing are all available under one roof. This eliminates the coordination delays and quality risks.

Flexible Batch Sizes – We work with you from prototype quantities through to long-run production supply. There is no minimum order quantity for custom components, and setup costs are kept competitive for small batches.

Drawing-Based Manufacturing – We manufacture strictly to your drawings and specifications. Deviations are never made without customer approval, and any potential issues are flagged before production begins.

Traceability & Documentation – Material certifications, dimensional inspection reports, hardness test certificates, and first-article inspection reports are available as per client requirements.

Confidentiality – We fully respect the intellectual property and design confidentiality of all our contract manufacturing customers. Non-disclosure agreements (NDA) are available and signed as standard for customers who require them.

Long-Term Supply Agreements – For customers requiring regular, repeat supply of the same components, we offer scheduled production planning, stocking arrangements, and priority capacity allocation to ensure consistent delivery performance.

Modern contract manufacturing transcends traditional outsourcing paradigms. By partnering with us, your company can gain access to:

  • Sophisticated technological infrastructure
  • Advanced material processing techniques
  • Comprehensive research and development capabilities
